I entirely agree with your post dude. I'm glad someone has stood up and said something about it. Poeple are unique and animate in their own way. Just because you're not the next adam philips doesnt mean you don't have something worth while to give. And newgrounds isnt just about the animation, its about the stories you have to tell with it!
To the stuck up animators: This isnt a competition, i dont animate to compete with anyone, so please stop treating every animation as a comparison!
Glad to see one of the members with the best values is back, I'm a little divided on what you said though. I think the anger stems from the fact that often a flash animator will come up with gags and not be able to carry them, so they will use an existing franchise as a scapegoat to compensate for either being a sprite movie or just 'badly' drawn it could just be a case of a fanboy tribute movie or it could be both.
It's kinda like when I saw a salad fingers themed snake game a few years ago now, excluding the deluded fanboys who will say otherwise adding salad fingers to snake doesn't make it any better as a game, in fact let's be realistic and say it was done anyway because they KNEW it would get them more attention with the salad fingers label.
You could easily say the same principles apply for a lot of movies, if it's better written then something totally original with a lower mark fair play to them, but in the case of something like Smash Kingdom Melee and metal gear awesome you're kidding yourself if you think some fanboy fangasms wasn't involved. I can't speak for everyone else but am I saying they're bad movies? no... am I saying they're overated movies? VERY yes.
True, there will always be those who will tend to rate higher based on what characters are in it and not the content. And there's occasionally going to be those who try to take advantage of that. All we can do is try to review them properly. By doing so we set an example for others to hopefully follow.

As for my next flash, I've finally gotten around to doing a Transformers animation I've been wanting to do. Then there's continued Larry and Benny animations.

I don't want to say a whole long paragraph so I'll make it short and simple. This is something that would keep going in Newgrounds and it will ever changed? Probably, it might be someday.

I do agree with this one though. This is one of the reason I'm revising my Reviewing Standards and try to do a fair review on flash movies regardless whether it is original, sprite or parody movie.
